My first Open Dharma retreat was in Rishikesh in 2005; a year later I hosted Open Dharma at the new retreat center we created in North Carolina. Since then I've been helping organize and manage retreats (including one at the Ravensbrück concentration camp in Germany), giving some limited teachings, and now serving on the US Open Dharma board. Jaya has been a massive support to me as I continue to offer spiritual support and space to folks in the U.S. social justice movement work. More information can be found on my website.
