The universe is made out of stories...

I am a storyteller by profession. I tell stories to children, teens, and adults. I am in love with stories and have long found storytelling to be far more then just a performing art. Stories can be a profound and powerful lense through which we can deepen our understanding of our selves and of all existence.
Meditation teachers Jack Kornfield and Christina Feldman have edited a beautiful book of wisdom tales called Soul Food. At the beginning of the book there is a quote: "The universe is made out of stories not out of atoms."

This life is such an incredible mystery; endless shapes, forms, colors and vibrations of sound and sensation weaving in and out of eachother. Dreams and reality, the personal and the transpersonal, vast stillness and vibrant motion, all in an eternal dance, twisting twirling and intertwining, as the human creature twists and turns within it all, forever moved forward by a deep longing for something which we might perhaps call
home.

It is said that stories are as old as time itself and if time be an illusion perhaps they are timeless.
