More about the films…

WE BUY, WHO PAYS? (2002) is a documentary about Western companies producing clothes and shoes in southern India, revealing problems with too low wages, child labour and environmental pollution, and about what can be done to solve these problems.

SANTA'S WORKSHOP (2004) takes you to China's toy factories where more than 75% of our toys in the world are made. Low labour costs attract more and more companies to China, but this industry takes its toll on the workers and on the environment. Those who protest or try to organise trade unions risk imprisonment.
The Swedish buyers blame bad conditions on the Chinese suppliers. But they say that increasingly hard competition gives them no option.
What can we do to bring about a fairer and more humane toy trade?
