Vaishisht and Photos

As an added incentive to return to these pages we are including a fortnightly updated page of photos and notes from Ajay's class.
We recommend to bookmark the main projects page rather than this page, as this one will be changing its location every fortnight.

Excerpt from Yoga Vaishisht as translated by Ajay in Lucknow March 2007

Ram: “What is the feature of ego? My Lord draw a picture of ego it will be easy for me to understand. How can I leave my ego how can I be without it? It seems easy to leave ego with my body when I die. But I am not sure what you say will happen.”

Vaishisht is still not tired he starts talking very quietly. “There are three realms that exist at the same time in you. ajayEgo is in three realms also. I will speak of how to leave them, how to let go. The first ego realm is the feeling that I exist in this I; there is nothing, no feeling that is beyond me. This is the whole. You are identified with a personal self you don’t want to remove.

Then there comes a time when you associate with the second realm of ego, which really wants to be liberated. The third is seeing non-practitioners as less than oneself. The second wants to get rid of the first.

Try to stop the feeling of superiority, chase it away. When you chase the third realm it will impact on the second. As long as this wants a seat you will have to keep chasing it away, many times. The joy that comes from superiority will be lost and you will not feel to give a seat to this feeling. If you don’t allow any of the three to sit with you, you will feel ‘sitting with you’; who you are, not all the time, but once in a while. It’s still personal – the authentic self rooted in the beyond personal. (Joy is how you know you are connected to your genuine self)

Be careful – this is not it, yet you’re connected to root joy feeling. Ego has become Ahanta (amness), but amness must also go, keep on. If you sit with the feeling ascending starts. Not feeling how you feel but feeling the feeling. Avoid the wish from your body or you to identify with the ascending, then that is the (kind of he’s saying) act of supreme welfare. You don’t allow any personality to take over the impersonal. Be in the moment without body, mind or Ahanta taking over the feeling. Once you have managed that there is nothing more to do. Now effort is not needed, non-effort takes over, and it takes you.”
