The Open Centre will be owned by the Open
Dharma non-profit association (currently called Vida Serena)
in Catalonia, Spain.
Donations can be made online (via credit card or directly from a bank or PayPal account), by bank transfer, by personal or bank check, and in person.
While the Open Centre teachers will privately buy a small section of the land for their own homes, participants cannot donate money in order to use or own part of the property. We are asking for full generosity to make this home for Open Dharma.
We envision collective creativity in finding fun and innovative ways to raise money, such as fundraising festivals, massage auctions, sponsored walks, or “work-a-week” programs where salary is channeled to Open Dharma.
We will gradually gather regional coordinators who help inspire and streamline fundraising projects in various countries. We’ll keep you updated on this page regarding who is organizing what and where
Why not create a home for Open Dharma and its teachings, for the benefit of many individuals, as well as for human collectives and the environment?
The Gift
Our
Union is like this.
You feel cold
So I reach for a blanket to cover
Our shivering feet.
A hunger comes into your body
So I run to my garden
And start digging potatoes.
You ask for a few words of comfort and guidance,
I quickly kneel at your side offering you
This whole book—
As a gift.
You ache with loneliness one night
So much you weep
And I say,
Here’s a rope,
Tie it around me,
Hafiz
Will be your companion
For life.
(Hafiz, The Gift, translated by Daniel Ladinsky, pg. 83.)
